The 3rd Middle East Congress took place on March 5-6. It is a nationwide academic event dedicated to analyzing the most important political, social, and economic processes occurring in the MENA region.
This year’s edition was held under the theme “Beyond the Liberal Order: The Middle East in the Face of New Configurations of Global Power” and gathered researchers, experts, diplomats, and practitioners from numerous academic centers and expert institutions.
During the two days of deliberations, participants took part in, among other things:
-expert debates on topics such as Polish policy towards the Middle East and economic cooperation with countries in the region,
-dozens of academic panels dedicated to topics including the politics of Iran, Israel, and Turkey, regional conflicts, energy transformation, the role of religion and identity in politics, migration, and the geopolitics of the Persian Gulf states,
-sessions for young researchers and students, which created a space for presenting new research and exchanging experiences.
-each debate and panel concluded with Q&A sessions during which participants had the opportunity to address the speakers directly.
We thank all speakers, participants, and event partners for inspiring discussions and for jointly creating one of Poland’s most important platforms for debate on the Middle East.
