Graduate Programme In International Relations (Master’s Degree, Full-time)

We offer an exceptional 2-year full-time master’s degree program taught entirely in English. We are looking for candidates who are open-minded, creative, ready to study in a multicultural environment, and dedicated to understanding the challenges of international relations and global politics. We expect candidates to have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of international relations and a strong academic focus. All courses are taught by experienced faculty members from Poland, other European countries, and universities outside Europe.

Tuition-based program

The program offers a curriculum focused on developing methodological, theoretical, and practical knowledge, skills, and competencies. It consists of four semesters (terms). The first semester is devoted to general topics in international relations. In their fourth semester, students are encouraged to tailor their own curriculum by choosing one of two tracks: social or economic. The program includes three semesters of a master’s thesis seminar, which allows for an individualized research focus and the further development of research competencies under the supervision of an experienced mentor. The University of Warsaw’s central location also makes the program unique in terms of the access it provides students to academic and extracurricular activities. During their studies, students will have the opportunity to attend numerous open lectures given by renowned professors from around the world. Furthermore, students are encouraged to apply for a semester abroad through the Erasmus+ Program and bilateral agreements with universities worldwide (including Mexico, the U.S., Brazil, and India). We also offer a double degree program with the University of Haifa in Israel, National Chung Hsing University in Taiwan, and Thammasat University in Thailand.

Employment prospects

The process of preparing a master’s thesis leads students to the award of a master’s degree (magister) recognized in the EU and internationally. Graduates of the program can choose to pursue either an academic career at the doctoral level or a professional career, particularly in international organizations, international business, public administration (especially the foreign service and government ministries), or the nonprofit sector.
