European Studies (Master’s, full-time)

Opis kierunku

The program is multidisciplinary and draws on the body of knowledge from three disciplines: political science and public administration, law, and sociology.

Completion of the curriculum in a master’s degree program enables students to:

  • to acquire a broader and deeper understanding of how the diverse and multifaceted areas of European policy function;
  • an understanding of the dynamics of political, economic, legal, and social changes at the national and supranational levels;
  • developing decision-making strategies;
  • analyzing the positions, attitudes, and behaviors of participants in integration processes, their mutual relationships, and their interactions with other actors in social life;

The program places a strong emphasis on personalized learning. Most classes are held in small groups, where interactive teaching methods encourage active participation. Strategy games, case studies, discussions, and group work are all forms of engagement that involve students in the learning process, making it more effective and appealing to them. The use of modern techniques and applications is intended to better reach today’s youth.

The program allows students to independently pursue their interests. Students have a significant say in shaping their curriculum by choosing among elective courses (half of the program consists of electives). This enables students to tackle highly original and interesting research questions in their master’s theses, which serve as the culmination of earlier courses that prepare students to conduct research. This provides an additional opportunity to integrate knowledge from various courses and to demonstrate initiative and independence.

The program prepares students to work independently in government and local government administration, nongovernmental organizations, and international organizations.
