4th Internationalisation Congress ‘Strategy for the Internationalisation of Science and Higher Education’ NAWA
On 18–19 May 2026, representatives of our Faculty participated in the 4th Internationalisation Congress ‘Strategy for the Internationalisation of Science and Higher Education’, organised by the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) in cooperation with the AGH University of Krakow.
The Congress was one of the most important nationwide events dedicated to the internationalisation of science and higher education. The meeting was attended by representatives of universities, research institutions, public administration, and organisations supporting the development of international cooperation.
The event programme included plenary and thematic sessions on, among other topics, the strategy for sustainable internationalisation of science and higher education in Poland until 2035, security and academic freedom, international cooperation in the face of global challenges, and the impact of internationalisation on the development of local communities and the economy.
Of particular importance was the active participation of representatives of our academic community in expert debates and discussion panels. Among the speakers and moderators were Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki – Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Dr Łukasz Gołota – Deputy Director of NAWA, Prof. Jolanta Itrich-Drabarek, Prof. Łukasz Zamęcki, and Prof. Aleksandra Gasztold. The event was also attended by Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala and Dr Łukasz Wieczorek, who are actively engaged in activities related to the development of international cooperation and the internationalisation of higher education.
The Congress provided a space for the exchange of experiences and good practices in the internationalisation of scientific research, academic mobility, and the building of international partnerships. The discussions held during the event emphasised the importance of international cooperation for the development of modern science and higher education, as well as the need to build a coherent strategy that responds to contemporary geopolitical and social challenges.
The participation of representatives of our Faculty in the Congress was an important element of efforts to strengthen the presence of our academic community in the international scientific and educational space and to develop cooperation with domestic and foreign partners.
