A New Chapter: The 2026 Graduation Ceremony for WNPiSM Graduates

Yesterday, graduates of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw officially marked the completion of one of the most important stages of their academic journey. The graduation ceremony for the 2025–2026 academic year took place at the University of Warsaw Library, and after the official portion of the ceremony, attendees celebrated this special day in the library’s gardens.

It was a day filled with pride, emotion, and joy—a symbolic culmination of years of study and the beginning of a new chapter in the lives of our graduates.

Members of the Dean’s Council of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics attended the ceremony: Associate Dean for International Cooperation, Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala; Associate Dean for Student Affairs, Dr. Tomasz Mering; Associate Dean for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Dr. Tomasz Godlewski; and Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, Prof. Łukasz Zamęcki.

The event was honored by the presence of His Magnificence, the Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, and representatives of the Rector’s Council: Vice Rector for Student Affairs and Educational Quality, Prof. Maciej Raś; Vice Rector for Research, Prof. Zygmunt Lalak; Vice Rector for Development, Prof. Ewa Krogulec; and Vice Rector for Doctoral Studies and Legal Affairs, Prof. Adam Niewiadomski. The ceremony was also attended by the Undersecretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Prof. Andrzej Szeptycki, as well as deans of other faculties, representatives of University of Warsaw units, program directors, thesis advisors, lecturers, administrative staff, and invited guests, as well as the families and friends of the graduates.

The ceremony was opened by Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala, who, on behalf of the Dean’s Council of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management, emphasized that graduation is a special moment —one that marks the end of an important stage in life, while at the same time paving the way for new challenges, opportunities, and experiences.
A special moment during the ceremony was the tribute paid to Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Social Sciences. Her dedication, kindness, and concern for the development of the Faculty and its community will remain in our memories forever.

The Rector of the University of Warsaw, Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak, also addressed the graduates, congratulating them on completing their studies at the best university in Poland and at the country’s top Department of Political Science and International Studies.

Ms. Agnieszka Pietrzak spoke on behalf of the students in Polish-language programs, while Mr. Kaloyan Kostov represented the graduates of English-language programs.

The highlight of the ceremony was the presentation of congratulatory letters. The program directors, together with Prof. Maciej Ras and Dr. Tomasz Mering, presented them to all the graduates.

We can sum up this special day with the words of Dean Prof. Agnieszka Bieńczyk-Missala: “Once again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our graduates on their achievements. May your dreams come true, and please remember that the doors of our Department and our University are always open to you.”

After the official portion of the event concluded, the participants gathered in the gardens of the University Library, where they were able to celebrate this special day together.

On behalf of the entire WNPiSM UW community, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to all our graduates! We wish you courage in pursuing your goals, success in the next stages of your careers, and satisfaction in the challenges you take on. Remember—WNPiSM will always be your home.
