We invite you to the first alumni lecture after the break! On April 9th at 6:30 PM, we will host Deputy Minister of National Defense Cezary Tomczyk in the Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium.
Cezary Tomczyk, born on August 25, 1984, is a native of Sieradz. He is a graduate of political science from the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw. He also completed Advanced Defense Courses at the National Defense Academy. He began his political career as a councilor of the Sieradz City Council. He has served as a Member of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland for the 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th terms. He has been a continuous member of the National Defense Committee since 2007. From 2007-2009, he was a member of the State Control Committee, and from 2009-2011, of the Public Finance Committee. From 2009 to 2011, he was a delegate of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland to the NATO Parliamentary Assembly. Since 2011, he has been a member of the European Union Affairs Committee. In 2015, he served as Secretary of State in the Chancellery of the Prime Minister and Press Spokesperson for the Government of Ewa Kopacz. He is the Vice-Chairman of the Civic Platform of the Republic of Poland. From 2020–2021, he was the chairman of the Civic Coalition parliamentary club. He is the husband of Ewa and a proud father of two sons – Adam and Leon. On December 13, 2023, he was appointed by the Prime Minister to the position of Secretary of State in the Ministry of National Defense.
