We are returning with events featuring our alumni, which have always attracted significant interest and serve as an important space for exchanging experiences between different generations of our community. In the coming months, we are planning both alumni lectures and new meeting formats that will bring together the voices of academic staff, students, and alumni. Details regarding upcoming events will be published soon.
We’d like to invite you now to the inaugural event of our new series—a panel discussion titled“Polish Politics 2026: Stabilization or a Prelude to the Elections?” The event will focus on the current political situation in Poland and what the coming months leading up to the parliamentary elections might look like. In this discussion, we will attempt to answer questions about the dynamics of the Polish party scene, the strategies of key political actors, and public sentiment that may shape future election campaigns. Is the Polish political scene in 2026 in a period of stabilization, or rather in the run-up to the next election mobilization? What political processes are already foreshadowing the upcoming campaigns and possible realignments on the party scene?
The discussion brings together representatives of three communities associated with our Faculty: academic staff, the alumni community, and the student community. The following will participate in the discussion:
-
Dr Anna Materska-Sosnowska – representative of the academic staff of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, member of the board of the Batory Foundation
-
Marcin Duma – representative of the alumni community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, founder of the Institute for Market and Social Research IBRiS
-
Krzysztof Heyda-Wykrytowicz – representative of the student community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, third-year political science student, co-founder of the Academic Circle for Strategy and Security Policy
The meeting will be an opportunity not only to analyze current political events, but also to foster dialogue within the Faculty community. By bringing together the voices of representatives from these three groups, we aim to create a space for regular discussion on the most important public issues—so that we can collectively interpret the political reality and share our diverse experiences and perspectives.
All interested parties are cordially invited to the Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium. The event will begin at 6:30 PM on Thursday, 19 March.
