We are returning with events featuring our alumni, which have always attracted significant interest and serve as an important space for exchanging experiences between different generations of our community. In the coming months, we are planning both alumni lectures and new meeting formats that will bring together the voices of academic staff, students, and alumni. Details regarding upcoming events will be published soon.
We cordially invite you to the inaugural meeting of the new series, a panel discussion entitled “Polish Politics 2026: Stabilisation or Electoral Prelude?”. The meeting will be devoted to the current political situation in Poland and what the coming months preceding the parliamentary elections may look like. In the discussion, we will attempt to answer questions about the dynamics of the Polish party scene, the strategies of the main political actors, and the social moods that may shape future electoral campaigns. Is the Polish political scene in 2026 in a moment of stabilisation, or rather in a period preceding another electoral mobilisation? What political processes are already heralding the upcoming campaigns and possible reshuffles on the party scene?
The discussion brings together representatives of three communities associated with our Faculty: academic staff, the alumni community, and the student community. The following will participate in the discussion:
- Dr Anna Materska-Sosnowska – representative of the academic staff of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, member of the board of the Batory Foundation
- Marcin Duma – representative of the alumni community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, founder of the Institute for Market and Social Research IBRiS
- Krzysztof Heyda-Wykrytowicz – representative of the student community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, third-year political science student, co-founder of the Academic Circle for Strategy and Security Policy
The meeting will be an opportunity not only to analyse current political events, but also to build dialogue within the Faculty community. By bringing together the voices of representatives from three communities, we aim to create a space for regular discussion on the most important public matters – so that we can jointly interpret political reality and share different experiences and perspectives.
All interested parties are cordially invited to the Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium. The event will begin at 6:30 PM on Thursday, 19 March.
