Announcement of a competition for the position of Ph.D. or M.A. student or scholarship recipient

Project: SONATA-19. Gender Gaps in Political Participation: Examining the Relationships Between Gender Equality and Gender-Role Attitudes in Europe, 1999–2021
Requirements:
– A master’s or bachelor’s degree in the social sciences;
– Currently enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in Poland;
– Knowledge of quantitative methods;
– Ability to work with quantitative data analysis software (e.g., STATA, R, Python) or a strong interest and willingness to learn;
– Knowledge of English, both spoken and written;
– Knowledge of other languages is a plus;
– Experience in organizing events or workshops for students is a plus;
– A proactive attitude toward work.
Description of tasks:
– Assisting with the coding of the Gender Equality Dataset;
– Retrieving, coding, and analyzing legislation and other sources for the Gender Equality Dataset;
– Compiling data on gender equality policies across multiple EU countries over time;
– Potentially, contributing to statistical analysis and the writing of academic papers;
– Organizing a workshop for students and early-career researchers (starting with the planning stage);
– Helping to promote the results on social media.
– We expect active participation in the project, including attendance at weekly team meetings. During the period leading up to and including the workshop (date to be agreed upon with the fellow), we expect full involvement in its organization and participation throughout the entire event.
We offer:
– Employment with the project for 6 months;
– A monthly stipend of 5,000 PLN gross;
– Flexibility, the option to work remotely;
– A unique opportunity to work on a project funded by Poland’s National Science Center as part of a young and friendly research team.

Recruitment process:
The competition serves as the first stage in the process of hiring a Ph.D. fellow. A successful outcome at this stage lays the groundwork for proceeding to the next steps. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Early applications are strongly encouraged.
