Associate Professor Ewa Flaszyńska appointed to the Reduced Working Hours Team at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy

Associate Professor Ewa Flaszyńska, an employee of the Department of Labour System and Labour Market at the University of Warsaw and Director of the Labour Market Department at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, has been appointed by the Minister of Family, Labour and Social Policy to the Reduced Working Hours Team. This advisory body is responsible, among other things, for monitoring the pilot program’s effects and developing recommendations for implementing reduced working hours in Poland.

Associate Professor Ewa Flaszyńska coordinates the implementation of the pilot program “Reduced Working Hours – It’s Happening!” at the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy, which is one of the ministry’s key initiatives in the area of labour market innovation. Simultaneously, the issue of reduced working hours is the subject of her scientific research conducted at the University of Warsaw. The coherence of practical and research activities is strengthened by her participation, on behalf of the Ministry, in the research project titled “Reduced Working Hours – From Diagnosis to Implementation.” The project was selected for funding under the National Centre for Research and Development GOSPOSTRATEG XII 2025 program and is being carried out by a consortium comprising the Central Institute for Labour Protection – National Research Institute, the Institute of Labour and Social Affairs, and the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. It is diagnostic and implementation-oriented, focusing on analyzing social, legal, and economic conditions and developing tools to support the implementation of reduced working hours in the Polish context.

This project is the first research undertaking in Poland of such broad scope, combining scientific analysis with the practical implementation of solutions in the area of working time. Its results, including best practices, informational activities, and recommendations for public policies, will provide significant support for further legislative and institutional actions.
