On behalf of the organizers, we cordially invite you to submit papers for the student academic conference entitled: Interdependence and Tensions: Politics, Society, Security, which will take place on 27 May 2026 at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw.
The conference aims to create an interdisciplinary space for debate on contemporary threats and challenges of the 21st century. We invite students and members of student research groups to present papers based on their own research, theoretical analyses, and case studies.
We particularly encourage addressing the following topics:
Security and international order:
- Changes in the global security architecture;
- International security in the Indo-Pacific region – trends and challenges;
- The space sector in the defence aspect;
- Migration as a tool of hybrid warfare.
Democracy, human rights, and political crises:
- Political crises as a factor weakening liberal democracy;
- Observers’ responses to humanitarian crises;
- Artificial intelligence and human rights;
- Human rights in the Indo-Pacific in the face of political and humanitarian crises.
Europe in the face of transformation:
- Internal threats to Europe – the condition of the European Union, political and social tensions in member states;
- External threats to Europe – relations with global actors, digital threats, disinformation, the use of AI in destabilization activities.
Regional perspectives and globalization:
- Latin American practices of resistance – social movements, alternative development models, civic mobilizations;
- Latin America in the face of globalization – economic dependencies, political and social transformations, new forms of regional integration.
