On December 2, we draw attention to one of the most serious human rights violations—human trafficking—which continues to affect millions of people around the world. This phenomenon takes many forms, including forced labor, sexual exploitation, child exploitation, begging, forced marriage, and domestic slavery.
The University of Warsaw’s Center for Research on Human Trafficking, headed by Prof. Zbigniew Lasocik, operates within the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. The Center emphasizes the crucial role of education, scientific research, and institutional cooperation in building a safe, informed, and resilient society.
Today’s observance also provides an opportunity to highlight national and international initiatives that support people at risk of human trafficking and promote systemic solutions in the areas of safety and the protection of human rights.
