Final of the 67th Edition of the Olympiad of Knowledge about Poland and the Contemporary World
On March 28–29, 2026, the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw hosted the final of the 67th Edition of the Olympiad of Knowledge about Poland and the Contemporary World, commissioned by the Ministry of National Education.
For two days, our faculty hosted the best female and male students from all over Poland who qualified for the final stage of the competition. The event program included both the competition part and numerous other events.
On the first day, after the official inauguration at the Faculty of Management, participants took the Olympiad test. The students then traveled to Krakowskie Przedmieście, where they had a meeting at the Presidential Palace. Afterwards, the events moved to the Main Campus, where the test results were announced and oral examinations were conducted. The day concluded with an artistic event in the Professor Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium.
On March 29, the finals of the 67th edition of the Olympiad began. We kicked things off with an Olympiad quiz featuring the nine top winners, hosted by Dr. Łukasz Szelecki.Immediately following that was a special public speaking contest for the Olympiad Chair’s Award, held under the theme of this year’s Olympiad—namely, the civil service. Another highlight of the program was a meeting and debate titled “Polandand the EU in a Changing World,” moderated by Prof. Konstanty Wojtaszczyk and featuring representatives from the academic and political spheres.
The finals culminated in a closing ceremony combined with an awards presentation for the Olympiad winners. On behalf of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, the Dean provided generous cash and in-kind prizes for the winners.
We sincerely congratulate all participants and thank the entire Faculty community for their involvement in organizing this exceptional event.
