On December 5, the University of Warsaw hosted representatives from National Taiwan Normal University. During the meeting, the participants discussed, among other things, forms of cooperation between the universities, with a particular focus on academic exchanges, joint research projects, and new teaching initiatives.
A meeting with representatives of National Taiwan Normal University (NTNU) took place on December 5 in the Senate Hall of Kazimierzowski Palace and focused on opportunities for developing academic cooperation between the two universities, including student exchanges and joint research initiatives. The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies was represented by Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Ph.D., Prof. The Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics at the University of Warsaw and Dr. Tomasz Mering Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics, University of Warsaw.
Rector of the University of Warsaw Prof. Alojzy Z. Nowak emphasized the importance of cooperation with the Taiwanese university: “At the University of Warsaw, we are building strong teams in fields such as mathematics, physics, chemistry, computer science, political science, and Asian studies. We are delighted to have the opportunity to develop our relationship with National Taiwan Normal University.” Taiwan plays an important role in the modern world—especially in the areas of new technologies and innovation. I believe that new forms of partnership—including academic exchanges and joint research—will contribute to a better understanding of our countries and strengthen cooperation between Poland and Taiwan.
During the visit, NTNU’s profile was presented, including, among other things, the university’s achievements in computer science, the natural sciences, semiconductor research, and Mandarin language instruction, as well as its wide range of international exchange programs. The guests also discussed areas for potential research projects and further steps to develop bilateral relations.
