NCN PRELUDIUM 24 Grants for Doctoral Students at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics

We are pleased to announce that two doctoral students from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw were among the winners of the PRELUDIUM 24 competition, organized by the National Science Center.

The following individuals received funding to carry out their research projects:

Eugeniusz Kuznicow-Wyszyński, M.A., project title: “The Impact of Ethnic Cards as an Instrument of State Policy on the Mutual Relations Between the Country of Origin, the Country of Residence, and the Diaspora, as Illustrated by the Polish Card”.

The research will focus on analyzing the Polish Card as a tool of state policy toward the diaspora. The project aims to examine the relationships within the following triad: country of origin (Poland) – countries of residence (the analysis will cover Ukraine, Belarus, the Czech Republic, and Brazil) – Polish diaspora communities. The project’s academic advisor is Magdalena Lesińska, Ph.D., Associate Professor from the Center for Migration Research at the University of Warsaw. The doctoral candidate’s advisors are Dr. Magdalena Lesińska, Ph.D., professor, and Dr. Dorota Heidrich, Ph.D.

Julia Dobrowolska, M.A., project title: “Strategies for Combating Disinformation in the Baltic States”.

The project focuses on analyzing the mechanisms and strategies adopted by countries in the Baltic region in the face of information threats. This research addresses key issues in contemporary international security and political communication. The project’s academic advisor is Marta Jas-Koziarkiewicz, Ph.D., Prof. from the Department of European Union Policies at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw.
