Online Academic Seminar “How Civil Society in Poland Counters Russian Disinformation”
The Faculty of Political Science and International Studies cordially invites you to an online academic seminar, which will take place on January 21st this year at 18.00. The special guest and main speaker will be Dr. Valentina Gevorgyan, who will deliver a paper titled “How Civil Society in Poland Counters Russian Disinformation.”
The event is part of the research conducted by Dr. Gevorgyan at our Faculty within the framework of the Lane Kirkland Scholarship Program. The research project, supervised by Dr. hab. Jacek Zaleśny, focuses on the activities of Polish civil society in countering Russian disinformation – a challenge of crucial importance for the state’s information security.
Dr. Valentina Gevorgyan is a researcher specializing in civil society in contemporary states. She currently serves as a lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science of Yerevan State University and at the Department of European and Slavic Studies of the University of Fribourg.
Dr. Gevorgyan obtained her doctoral degree at the University of Fribourg. Her doctoral dissertation was published as a monograph titled “Civil Society and Government Institutions in Armenia. Leaving Behind the Post-Soviet Title” by Routledge.
The seminar will be held online in English.
