This year, Women’s Day at WNPiSM was exceptionally intense and diverse. The event was designed as a full-day platform combining the integration of the faculty community with important discussions and practical workshops.
The morning began with self-defense workshops titled “The Weaker Sex? Not Necessarily!”, led by trainers from Sekkura. The sessions had both theoretical and practical dimensions, allowing participants to practice the most useful defense techniques.
The next item on the agenda was the workshop “What do you CONVEY?”, led by Agata Gwiazdowska. The gathering around a shared table provided an opportunity to discuss nutritional education.
The afternoon was marked by the debate “Women at University: Discussions on Breaking the Glass Ceiling”. The discussion involved representatives from academia, public life, and administration. Participants included: Dean of WNPiSM Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Vice-Rector Prof. Ewa Krogulec, Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, Prof. Aleksandra Gasztold, Dr. Katarzyna Biejat, and Dr. Karolina Zioło-Pużuk, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Science and Higher Education. The conversation focused on the challenges faced by women aspiring to develop their careers in science. As each of the guests has significant achievements to their name, we also discussed women’s strategies for advancing through career stages.
We sincerely thank the workshop leaders, panelists, and everyone who celebrated Women’s Day at WNPiSM with us!
