“Polish Politics 2026: Stabilization or Electoral Prelude”

We invite you to a discussion panel organized by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, dedicated to the current political situation in Poland and what the coming months leading up to the parliamentary elections might look like. During the discussion, we will attempt to answer questions about the dynamics of the Polish party scene, the strategies of key political actors, and the social sentiments that may shape future election campaigns. Is the Polish political scene in 2026 in a moment of stabilization, or rather in a period preceding another electoral mobilization? What political processes are already foreshadowing upcoming campaigns and possible reshuffles on the party scene?

The discussion will bring together representatives from three communities associated with our Faculty: academic staff, alumni, and students.

Participants in the discussion will include:

  • Dr. Anna Materska-Sosnowska – representative of the academic staff of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, member of the board of the Batory Foundation
  • Marcin Duma – representative of the alumni community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, founder of the Institute for Market and Social Research IBRiS
  • Krzysztof Heyda-Wykrytowicz – representative of the student community of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw, 3rd-year political science student, co-founder of the Scientific Circle of Strategy and Security Policy

The meeting will be an opportunity not only to analyze current political events but also to foster dialogue within the Faculty community. By combining the voices of representatives from these three groups, we aim to create a space for regular discussion on the most important public matters – to jointly interpret political reality and share diverse experiences and perspectives. It will take place on March 19 at 6:30 PM in the Jan Baszkiewicz Auditorium.
