Predatory journals in social sciences: mechanisms, consequences, and challenges for research quality – seminar for research and teaching staff
We cordially invite you to participate in the seminar titled “Predatory journals in social sciences: mechanisms, consequences, and challenges for research quality”, which will take place on March 16 this year, from 11:30 AM to 1:00 PM, in a hybrid format.
The meeting will focus on the growing phenomenon of so-called predatory journals and its impact on evaluation standards, the circulation of scientific knowledge, and the credibility of research in the social sciences. During the seminar, the mechanisms of unethical publishers’ operations, practices for their identification, and possible recommendations for WNPiSM UW staff regarding safe and responsible publishing strategies will be discussed.
The meeting will be led by Dr. Habil. Łukasz Zamęcki, University Professor – Deputy Dean for Research at WNPiSM UW , and the main speaker will be Prof. Dr. Habil. Magdalena Musiał-Karg – President of PTNP and Vice-President of IPSA.
The in-person part will take place in room 307. Information regarding remote participation will be sent to interested individuals via a separate email.
