Prof. Tomaszewski at the Defence24 Days Conference

On May 6-7, 2026, another edition of Defence24 Days – the largest conference in Central and Eastern Europe dedicated to key issues of defense and state security – took place at PGE Narodowy in Warsaw. This event, gathering decision-makers, representatives of the armed forces, and experts from the civilian sector, provided a platform for debate on strategic challenges in an era of dynamic geopolitical changes.

This year’s edition saw the participation of Prof. Krzysztof Tomaszewski, representing the University of Warsaw. He served as a panelist in the debate titled “Resilience of Energy Chains in Military Operations,” moderated by Prof. Jarosław Gryz. The discussion panel became a platform for in-depth analysis at the intersection of technology, energy, and military security.

During the discussion, Prof. Krzysztof Tomaszewski presented a substantive position on two key areas:

1) Transformation of the energy paradigm: The necessity of moving away from centralized energy management models (“top-down”) towards mission-oriented energy systems was discussed. It was emphasized that decentralization and diversification of sources are now fundamental to the resilience of military units in crisis situations.

2) The Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI): AI was highlighted as an indispensable tool for optimizing resource consumption, predicting demand, and supporting decision-making processes in situations of high operational load.

Participation in Defence24 Days was an opportunity to present the academic achievements of the University of Warsaw to practitioners and to initiate an interdisciplinary dialogue with representatives of the defense sector. The presented approach aligns with the pursuit of modern, scientific solutions for strengthening state resilience and security.

We congratulate the organizers on creating a high-class expert platform and thank the co-panelists for an inspiring exchange of ideas.
