Publication by Prof. Patrycja Grzebyk, Prof. Bartłomiej Krzan, and Prof. Karolina Wierczyńska Wins First Prize from the Minister of Foreign Affairs

A monograph by Dr. Patrycja Grzebyk, Ph.D., professor (Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, University of Warsaw), co-authored with Dr. Bartłomiej Krzan, a professor at the University of Wrocław, and Dr. Karolina Wierczyńska, a professor at the Institute (Polish Academy of Sciences), won first prize in the prestigious Ministry of Foreign Affairs Competition for the Best History Book.

The award-winning publication titled “Poland’s Contributions to International Criminal Law, 1918–2018” triumphed in the category of Best Publication in Polish on the History of Polish Diplomacy. The book provides a comprehensive study of the evolution of research and practice in international criminal law in Poland over the course of an entire century, filling a significant gap in the literature on the subject.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs Awards have been presented since 2017. This initiative aims to stimulate interest in the history of the Republic of Poland and the history of Polish diplomacy within the international and domestic academic communities. The composition of the Selection Committee—which includes representatives from the Polish Academy of Sciences (PAN), the University of Warsaw, and the directors of key think tanks (OSW, Ministry of Foreign Affairs)—underscores the prestigious nature of this award.
