Candidate profile
Only students who have achieved a grade point average of no less than 3.49 during their studies may apply for participation in the bilateral exchange programme. Students with a grade point average below 3.49 may participate with the special consent of the Programme Director. For first-cycle students, the average is calculated from the academic year preceding qualification; for second-cycle students, it is based on the first-cycle diploma.
Participation in exchange programmes
The following students may apply for participation in the bilateral exchange programme:
- ✓ First-cycle students – 2nd year (exchange: 3rd year, winter or summer semester)
- ✓ First-cycle students – 3rd year (exchange: 1st year of second-cycle studies in the summer semester), provided they document continuation of studies at the second-cycle level in a programme administered by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies
- ✓ Second-cycle students – 1st year (exchange: 2nd year, winter or summer semester)

- Students in the 3rd year of first-cycle studies and the 2nd year of second-cycle studies must additionally obtain their supervisor’s consent for exchange in the summer semester
Language certificates
Knowledge of a foreign language, the level of proficiency, and the type of certificate should comply with the requirements of the selected universities. Detailed requirements should be available on the website of the selected university. It is the student’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the requirements of the partner university.
University selection
The student selects a maximum of three universities from the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies’ list of agreements in order from most to least preferred, taking into account the required language proficiency and the course offerings of the host university. Students of all programmes administered by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies have equal access to all Faculty agreements.
Exchange regulations
It is the student’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the Exchange Regulations before submitting the application for exchange under the bilateral agreements programme.
Document submission
Recruitment for exchange under the bilateral agreements programme for the 2026/2027 academic year will take place from 2 to 6 February 2026.
Results will be announced on 16 February 2026. The list of candidates provisionally qualified for exchange will appear in the Announcements tab.
Documents must be submitted in person – in room 309 in the Auditorium Building during office hours.
Period for submitting appeals against the committee’s decision: 17 February – 2 March 2026
Period for submitting the “Candidate nomination for exchange” document: 3–6 March 2026
Qualification requirements for:
- Students holding citizenship other than EU or EEA countries
A student holding citizenship other than that of a European Union or European Economic Area member state is obliged, in connection with the planned stay as a participant in the bilateral exchange programme, to verify the rules relating to entry into the territory of the host country.
- Fee-paying students
Fee-paying students in programmes administered by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies are obliged to settle tuition payments for studies in the programme pursued at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies also for the exchange period.
- Third-year first-cycle students
Third-year first-cycle students may participate in the qualification process conditionally. A condition for exchange is documentation of continuation of studies at the second-cycle level in programmes administered by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies. Exchange is only possible in the summer semester. In justified cases, the Dean’s Plenipotentiary for International Cooperation and Research Programmes and the Mobility Coordinator, after consulting the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs/Head of the Teaching Unit, may grant consent for exchange in the winter semester of the first year of second-cycle studies.
- Doctoral School participants (doctoral students)
Doctoral School participants are eligible to participate in the qualification process, provided that:
– the agreement with the host university concerns the exchange of third-cycle students and the relevant scientific discipline;
– they will have the consent of their supervisor and the Director of the Doctoral School. Doctoral students may participate in a research project; however, during their stay at the host university they must attend classes and obtain the required number of credits agreed in writing with the supervisor and the Director of the Doctoral School (if applicable) and between the universities (within the Learning Agreement). The minimum number of ECTS credits (after conversion) is at least 10 per semester.
