We know the winners of the 10th Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Award

The first day of the 1st National Congress of Research Centers, which took place from November 26–27 November at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies of the University of Warsaw, was the awards ceremony for the 10th edition of the Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Competition. The jury honored the authors of the best scholarly publications and doctoral dissertations in the field of political science.

The purpose of the competition is to recognize the outstanding achievements of Polish researchers and to promote high academic standards in the field of political science.

The winners were selected by the Committee of the Prof. Jan Baszkiewicz Award, composed of the following members:

  • Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk
  • Prof. Stanisław Filipowicz
  • Prof. Wojciech Jakubowski
  • Prof. Mirosław Karwat
  • Prof. Bartłomiej Zdaniuk
  • Prof. Tomasz Żyro
  • Prof. Łukasz Zamęcki
  • Prof. Małgorzata Kiwior-Filo
  • Prof. Arkadiusz Żukowski

In the competition for the best scholarly monograph in the broadly defined field of political science, published in 2024 by Polish researchers (regardless of place of publication), the Jury awarded the following prizes:

  1. First-place prize:
    • Prof. Mieczysław Jagłowski , Ph.D. (University of Warmia and Mazury) for his book titled *Imagined Lusitania: Sketches on the National Imaginary of the Portuguese*(Scholar Academic Publishing House, Warsaw, 2024)
  2. Honorable Mention:
    • Prof. Piotr Nowak, Ph.D. ( University of Białystok) for his book titled *A Typically Polish Accent* ( State Publishing Institute, Warsaw, 2024)

In the competition for the best doctoral dissertation in the field of political science, defended at the University of Warsaw in 2024, the following dissertation received an honorable mention:

  1. First-place prize:
    1. Dr. Aleksandra Spalińska ( Polish Academy of Sciences) for her paper titled: “Reappraising New Medievalism in Political Research: A Study on the Conception.”
