Women’s Day at WNPiSM is a full-day event combining faculty integration with a dose of substantive discussion. This year’s program has been designed as a space for conversation about the strength, agency, and presence of women in academic and everyday life.
We will start the morning with self-defense workshops titled “The Weaker Sex? Not Necessarily!” led by trainers from the Yawara Traditional Ju-Jitsu School.
Next, we invite participants to a shared table during the “what you convey” workshops, led by Agata Gwiazdowska, who is the author of the podcast “co przekazuJESZ” (what you convey).
The afternoon will be dedicated to the debate “Women at the University: Conversations about Breaking the Glass Ceiling,” featuring representatives from the world of science and public life, including the Dean of WNPiSM, Prof. Katarzyna Kołodziejczyk, Dr. Katarzyna Biejat, and Dr. Karolina Zioło-Pużuk. The discussion will address challenges, systemic barriers, and real tools for change in the academic environment. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Olgierd Annusewicz.
The day will culminate in a discussion titled “Stereotypes, Women, Pop Culture: From Bareja to Memes,” during which we will examine how culture shapes perceptions of women and how these perceptions evolve. Participants will include Prof. Agnieszka Rothert, Martyna Harland, and Prof. Elżbieta Durys. The discussion will be moderated by Prof. Wojciech Lewandowski.
A symbolic toast is planned for the end of the day.
We cordially invite you to participate.
