Bilateral Exchange – Recruitment

Candidate Profile

Only students who have achieved an average grade of not less than 3.49 during their studies may apply for a bilateral exchange program. Students with an average below 3.49 may go with the special consent of the Head of Studies. For first-cycle students, the average is taken from the academic year preceding the qualification; for second-cycle students, it is from the first-cycle diploma.  

Participation in exchange programmes

The following students may apply for participation in the bilateral exchange programme:

✓ First-cycle students – 2nd year (departure: 3rd year, winter or summer semester)

✓ First-cycle students – 3rd year (departure: 1st year of second-cycle studies in the summer semester), provided they document continuation of studies in a second-cycle program administered by the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies

✓ Second-cycle students – 1st year (departure: 2nd year, winter or summer semester)

Language certificates

Foreign language proficiency, its level, and the type of certificate must comply with the requirements of the chosen universities. Detailed requirements should be available on the website of the chosen university.  It is the student’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the requirements of the partner university. 

University selection

The student selects a maximum of three universities from the list of WNPiSM agreements in order from most to least preferred, taking into account the required language proficiency and the course offerings of the host university. Students of all programs administered by WNPiSM have equal access to all Faculty agreements.

Exchange regulations

It is the student’s responsibility to familiarize themselves with the Exchange Regulations before submitting the application for exchange under the bilateral agreements programme. 

Document submission 

Recruitment for exchange under the bilateral agreements program for the academic year 2026/2027 will take place from February 2 to February 6, 2026.

Results will be announced on February 16, 2026. The list of provisionally qualified individuals for departure will appear in the Announcements tab.

Documents must be submitted in person – in room 309 of the Auditorium Building during office hours.

Period for submitting appeals against the committee’s decision: February 17 – March 2, 2026

Period for submitting the document “Candidate Application for Departure”: March 3-6, 2026

Qualification requirements for:

Students holding citizenship other than EU or EEA countries

A student holding citizenship other than that of a European Union or European Economic Area member state is obliged, in connection with the planned stay as a participant in the bilateral exchange programme, to verify the rules relating to entry into the territory of the host country.

Fee-paying students

Students of paid programs administered by WNPiSM are obliged to settle tuition fees for studies in the program carried out at WNPiSM also for the exchange period.

Third-year first-cycle students

Third-year first-cycle students may conditionally participate in the qualification process. The condition for departure is documented continuation of studies in a second-cycle program administered by WNPiSM.
Departure is only possible in the summer semester. In justified cases, the Dean’s Plenipotentiary for International Cooperation and Research Programs and the Mobility Coordinator, after consulting with the Vice-Dean for Student Affairs/Head of the Didactic Unit, may grant consent for departure in the winter semester of the first year of second-cycle studies.

Doctoral School Participants (PhD students)

Doctoral School participants are eligible to participate in the qualification process, provided that:
– the agreement with the host university concerns the exchange of third-cycle students and the relevant scientific discipline;
– they have the consent of their supervisor and the Director of the Doctoral School. PhD students may participate in a research project, but during their stay at the host university, they must attend classes and obtain the required number of credits agreed upon in writing with the supervisor and the Director of the Doctoral School (if applicable) and between universities (within the Learning Agreement). The minimum number of ECTS credits (after conversion) is at least 10 per semester.
