Dr. Bohdan Kaczmarek – A graduate of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science at the University of Warsaw (he graduated with honors in 1979). Doctor of Humanities (1988). A member of the Institute’s staff since 1979,currently an associate professor. Member of the Faculty Council of the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science. He teaches courses on political theory, organizational political science, the sociology of totalitarian institutions and discretionary organizations, organization and management in public administration, strategic management, political strategies, and political risk analysis. In the past, he was a political and social activist. Among other roles, he served as: chairman of the Warsaw District Council of the SZSP from 1980 to 1982, head of the Department of Youth and Social Organizations of the Central Committee of the Polish United Workers’ Party (PZPR) at the turn of 1989/90, a founding member of the SdRP, and a member of its national leadership. He was a member of the Program Council of the Center for Political Analysis headed by Professor Janusz Reykowski, as well as the Program Committee of the left-wing ideological bimonthly “Forum Klubowe” and the Scientific Council of the journal “Studia Krytyczne.” In addition to his academic and political activities, he has experience in management. From 1991 to 1999, he served as director of the International School of Managers; from 1994 to 1998 and from 2001 to 2004, he was a member of the Supervisory Board of KGHM “Polska Miedź” S.A., serving as Chairman of the Supervisory Board from 1994 to 1998 and from 2001 to 2004; and a member of the Supervisory Board of Dolnośląska Spółka Inwestycyjna from 1997 to 1999. He has provided expert and consulting services on organizational and management issues as well as the analysis of political processes, including for government and political party structures; He currently conducts training courses on management, public administration management, strategic management, organizational power and culture, and change management. Editor of dozens of educational and popular science publications on organization and management; author of concepts and project manager for several projects funded by the European Union under the PHARE program. Member of the Presidium of the ZNP Regional Council at the University of Warsaw.

Political theory and theories of power, organizational political science, theories of social development, structural determinants of the monopolization of power, mechanisms and conditions of systemic transformation processes, relationships between power and ownership, metaparadigmatic reflection in the social sciences, a critical perspective in research on politics and management processes, the interaction between political science and organizational science.
