Cezary Żołędowski, Ph.D., Professor – Ph.D. in Political Science (1988), habilitation degree in the humanities in the field of political science (2004), Associate Professor at the University of Warsaw, faculty member at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, author of over 100 scholarly publications, principal investigator of the research project “Educational Migration to Poland—Socioeconomic Consequences” funded by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, participant in national and international research projects. From 2008 to 2016, he served as director of the Institute of Social Policy at the University of Warsaw and was a long-standing member and chair of the admissions committee for doctoral studies at the Institute of Social Policy (FPSIS). He is currently a member of, among others: the Scientific Council of the Center for Migration Research at the University of Warsaw (chair of the Council from 2012 to 2016), the Executive Board of the Polish Society for Social Policy, the Committee on Labor and Social Policy of the Polish Academy of Sciences, the Editorial Board of the quarterly journal *Problems of Social Policy. Studies and Discussions,” and the International Program Council of the journal “Civil Society. Research. Practice.” Awards related to research and teaching activities—including: the Medal commemorating the 200th anniversary of the University of Warsaw (2016), and the Edward Abramowski Medal (2018).
Research Interests
Theory and practice of intergroup relations; the situation of national minorities in Poland and Polish diaspora communities abroad; multiculturalism and multicultural policy in Europe; Poland’s role in international migration processes; theoretical aspects of social policy; demographic and social issues in Poland.
