Dr Łukasz Wieczorekcriminologist, Doctor of Legal Sciences (2014), Assistant Professor at the Human Trafficking Research Centre of the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, fellow of the U.S. Department of State (2012) and the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control – HEUNI (2011). Member of the European Society of Criminology and the Polish Criminological Society named after Professor Stanisław Batawia. Since 2020, Dean’s Plenipotentiary for Legalization of Foreign Students’ Stay, and since 2022, coordinator of the UW Welcome Point.

Participant in several international research projects, the three most recent being: Study on reviewing the functioning of Member States’ National and Transnational Referral Mechanisms (2019-2020, European Commission); DESIrE – Demand for sexual exploitation in Europe (2017-2019, European Commission); FIGAS – Filing the gaps in the system of combating human trafficking in Poland (2013-2015, European Commission).

Between 2009 and 2024, he delivered papers at, among others, the annual conferences of the European Society of Criminology, as well as at the International Labour Organization in Geneva, the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control – HEUNI in Helsinki (Finland), and Tilburg University (the Netherlands).

He co-created postgraduate studies for operational and investigative officers of the Border Guard entitled “Strengthening the capacity of the Border Guard in the implementation of operational and investigative activities in the area of combating international organized crime” (2023-2024), and “Criminological, victimological and socio-cultural aspects of migration and human trafficking” (2015-2016).
