Prof. Gertruda Uścińska, Ph.D. – Professor (2015), lawyer, researcher, and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw; director of the Center for Social Security Research; Vice Dean for Student Affairs from 2012 to 2016. Professor at the Institute of Labor and Social Studies. Since 2020, Chair of the Committee on Labor and Social Policy of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Member of numerous academic, advisory, and expert bodies. From 2016 to 2024, President of the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS). A recognized authority in Poland and abroad in the fields of labor law, social security, the coordination of social security systems, and the free movement of persons within the European Union. Author of numerous publications on social policy, social security, European law, and comparative social policy. Editor-in-chief of the journal “Social Security: Theory, Law, Practice.” Between 2008 and 2024, he gave numerous lectures in Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan, France, Italy, Switzerland, Belgium, Germany, and other countries. He has many years of experience in the application of social security law and international social law.
