Jerzy Ciechański, Ph .D., specializes in international relations. He is a researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. He holds a master’s degree in law from the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Warsaw and a Ph.D. in political science from Northern Illinois University. He is an academic lecturer in the field of international relations in Poland and the United States. He participated in Poland’s EU accession negotiations (employment and social policy, free movement of persons). Former Chair of the Governing Board of the European Foundation for the Improvement of Living and Working Conditions (the EU’s leading think tank on social policy), former Chair of the Council of Europe’s Committee on Social Cohesion, and former Vice-Chair of the EU Social Protection Committee. He is the author of publications on the role of the UN in maintaining international peace and security, social human rights, EU social and employment policy, and the biological factor in international relations.
