Dr Łukasz Wieczorek – criminologist, Doctor of Law (2014), Assistant Professor at the Center for Research on Human Trafficking, Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw; fellow of the U.S. Department of State (2012) and the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control – HEUNI (2011). Member of the European Society of Criminology and the Polish Society of Criminology named after Prof. Stanisław Batawia. Since 2020, he has served as the Dean’s Representative for the legalization of foreign students’ residence, and since 2022, as the coordinator of the University of Warsaw’s Welcome Point.
Participant in several international research projects, the last three of which are: Study on reviewing the functioning of Member States’ National and Transnational Referral Mechanisms (2019–2020, European Commission); DESIrE – Demand for Sexual Exploitation in Europe (2017–2019, European Commission); FIGAS – Filling the Gaps in the System of Combating Human Trafficking in Poland (2013–2015, European Commission).
Between 2009 and 2024, he delivered presentations at events including the annual conferences of the European Society of Criminology, as well as at the International Labor Organization in Geneva, the European Institute for Crime Prevention and Control – HEUNI in Helsinki (Finland), and at Tilburg University (the Netherlands).
He co-developed a postgraduate program for operational and investigative officers of the Border Guard entitled “Strengthening the Capacity of the Border Guard in Conducting Operational and Investigative Activities in the Fight Against International Organized Crime” (2023–2024), as well as “Criminological, Victimological, and Sociocultural Aspects of Migration and Human Trafficking” (2015–2016).
