Prof.Dr. Hab. Shewach Weiss – political scientist, professor of political science, diplomat, former Speaker of the Knesset (1992–1996), Ambassador of Israel to Poland from 2001 to 2003, former Chairman of the Council of the Yad Vashem Institute. Awarded the Order of the White Eagle, the Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Republic of Poland, the Honorary Badge “Bene Merito”, the Amitai Award for Integrity in Public Service, the Brother Albert Award, the Sérgio Vieira de Mello Award, the Jan Nowak-Jeziorański Award. He is a doctor honoris causa of the University of Wrocław, doctor honoris causa of the University of Warsaw, doctor honoris causa of the Medical University of Łódź, doctor honoris causa of the Maria Grzegorzewska Academy of Special Education in Warsaw, doctor honoris causa of the University of Economics in Katowice.
