Dr. Szymon Kardaś – Ph.D. in Political Science (2010), researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. Graduate of the Institute of International Relations at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, University of Warsaw (2004), and the Faculty of Law and Administration, University of Warsaw (2007). Recipient of a scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science for young researchers (2009). Recipient of a scholarship competition for the best young PhDs as part of the “Modern University” project (October 2011), and recipient of a scholarship for outstanding young researchers from 2015 to 2018. Since September 2012, he has been the lead specialist on Russian energy policy in the Russian Team at the Marek Karp Center for Eastern Studies. Member of the research team implementing the “EU-STRAT” project (http://eu-strat.eu/)—an international research project dedicated to analyzing relations between the European Union and its eastern neighbors (May 1, 2016 – April 30, 2019). Participant in numerous academic conferences, seminars, as well as study and research trips to Russia (including St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Kazan, Vladivostok, Khabarovsk, and Vladikavkaz) as well as to Germany, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Slovakia, and the United States.

Research Interests
International relations in the post-Soviet space, Russian domestic and foreign policy, Russian energy policy, European and international economic law.
