Prof. Andrzej Wierzbicki, Ph.D. – Ph.D. in the Humanities in the field of political science (1999), habilitation degree in the Humanities in the field of political science, specialization: ethnopolitics (2010), Professor at the University of Warsaw (2012), Full Professor (2019), researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. Head of the Department of Eastern Studies (2019). Expert in an international research program under the ERA.Net RUS Plus initiative and in the competition for “scientific and technical projects” titled “Perceptions of Russia in Eurasia: Memory, Identity, Conflicts” (2016–2017). Visiting professor at universities in Astana, Almaty, Moscow, and Saint Petersburg. Participant in the international research programs “Contemporary Central Asia” (2002–2010), “Power, Elites, Leadership” (2010–2014), and the Interinstitutional Research Study on Russia and the Post-Soviet States (2010–2018). She is a graduate of an interdisciplinary postgraduate program in translation and interpretation at the Faculty of Applied Linguistics, University of Warsaw (2016).

Ethnopolitics in Central Asia and Russia; theoretical and political aspects of nation-building and nationalism; political, economic, and social challenges of post-Soviet integration; policy toward Eastern Poland (Polish-Russian and Polish-Belarusian relations)
