Associate Professor Cezary Smuniewski – Doctor of Habilitation in Security Studies (2020), Doctor of Habilitation in Theology (2014), academic staff member at the Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw, Deputy Director of the Interdisciplinary Research Centre at the University of Warsaw “Identity – Dialogue – Security”. His research interests focus on broadly understood security issues, particularly: axiology of security, patriotism, social security, the relationship between religion and security, health security, cultural security, psychology of security, and the interdisciplinary nature of security studies. From 2015 to 2021, he served as Associate Professor at the National Defence University and subsequently at the War Studies University. He completed international research fellowships at the Faculty of Political Science, University of Genoa (10.2018 – 09.2019) and the Faculty of Economics, University of Genoa (05.2016 – 09.2016). Previously, he completed postdoctoral studies at Roman universities: Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (2008-2010) and Pontificia Università Gregoriana (2009-2010). He has experience in managing international and national research projects (including: “Politics-Religion-Security. Conflict and Attempts at Resolution” based on international cooperation POWR.04.03.00-00-0013/18 and Unwanted People and Desired Citizens: Contemporary Attitudes, Challenges and Perceptions of Migration and Integration. Interdisciplinary Research – Institute of Political Science). Member of the editorial board of the “Polish Journal of Political Science”.
