Dariusz Jaruga, Ph.D., Eng. – Doctor of Social Sciences in the field of social communication and media studies (2019); Graduate of the Faculty of Mechatronics at the Warsaw University of Technology. Since 2022, a research and teaching staff member at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. Research and teaching staff member at the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Book Studies at the University of Warsaw (2015–2021); Teaching assistant at the Faculty of Journalism and Political Science (2002–2015). Dean’s Representative for Personal Data Protection at the Faculty of Journalism, Information, and Publishing (2016–2021). Co-founder of the “Big Data Management” degree program at the University of Warsaw. He participated in two projects of the National Center for Research and Development in the field of research, development, and technological trends. He is currently a member of the team implementing the project: “Identification, Collection, and Assessment of Hostile Disinformation Operations in Cyberspace Using ICT Tools (IKONA).” He also gained professional experience at the Polish Press Agency and at the Warsaw School of Economics.
Research Interests
Information enhancement, development of research applications for data collection to support enhancement, processing of Big Data as a valuable source of secondary information, operating systems, network services, relational and non-relational databases, new media, software development, and information security.
