Prof. Jacek Męcina, Ph.D. – professor, lLawyer, social policy expert; since 1993, a faculty member at the Institute of Social Policy, Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, University of Warsaw; director of the Institute of Social Policy (2016–2019). Previously, he served as deputy director of the Institute of Labor and Social Affairs (1997–2000). He is the dean’s representative for cooperation with the business community. Member of the program council of the bimonthly journal *Human Resource Management* and the quarterly *Social Dialogue*, as well as the editorial board of the journal *Social Policy*. Recipient of a scholarship from the European TEMPUS program (1997) and the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (2001–2002). He participated in the following research projects. Project leader of the research project “Social Dialogue at the Workplace,” funded under the ESF Human Capital Program, 2008–2013; “Entrepreneurs and Artisans”—a research project carried out jointly with a research team from the Warsaw School of Economics; participant in the research project “In Search of Security in the Labor Market. Economic Migration to and from Poland and the Attractiveness of the Polish Labor Market,” funded by the National Science Center under the OPUS program. Author of over 100 books, articles, and studies in the fields of labor law, labor relations, social dialogue, and issues of employment policy and the labor market. He combines his research passions with his commitment to public service as a member of the Tripartite Commission for Social and Economic Affairs (since 2004), Deputy Minister of Economy and Labor responsible for labor law, wages, social dialogue, and the labor market (2005), and, since 2012, as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy. Since 2012, he has been ranked by *Dziennik Gazeta Prawna* among the 50 most influential lawyers in Poland, exerting a key influence on the shaping of labor legislation and labor market regulations in Poland.
