Maciej Raś, Ph.D., Prof. – university professor at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw in Poland. He earned his Ph.D. (2003) and habilitation (2019)—both in political science—at the University of Warsaw. Vice Rector for Student Affairs and the Quality of Teaching and Learning at the University of Warsaw. Previously: Associate Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty (2020–2024); Dean’s Representative for International Doctoral Students (2013–2020); Director of the postgraduate program in cultural marketing at the University of Warsaw (2006–2014); Director of the National Security Studies program at the University of Warsaw (2008–2014); coordinator of cooperation between the Institute of International Relations at the University of Warsaw and universities in Russia. He has lectured at several foreign universities (including in China and Russia) and presented papers in Baltimore, Bonn, Chengdu, Chicago, Frankfurt am Main, Heidelberg, Istanbul, Jerusalem, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nashville, Odessa, Saint Petersburg, San Francisco, Sofia, and Tokyo.
Research Interests
International political relations, international relations in the post-Soviet region, Russian foreign and security policy, relations between the West and Russia, the role of the East in Polish foreign policy, regional actors in international relations (paradiplomacy).
