Marek Madej, Ph.D., Professor – Habilitated Doctor (habilitation degree in political science, 2018, University of Warsaw), born in 1978, Assistant Professor in the Department of Strategic Studies and International Security at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, University of Warsaw. Previously, he was also a researcher—a senior expert on international security at the Polish Institute of International Affairs (PISM, 2006–2010), a security expert at the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland (2012–2013), and deputy director for research and international cooperation at the Institute of International Relations at the University of Warsaw (2016–2019). He received fellowships from the governments of the United States (2009) and Japan (2017). He has served as a visiting professor at various universities in the United Kingdom (University of Nottingham, University of Kent), Ireland (DCU), India (Manipal University), Kosovo (UBT in Pristina), and at the European Security and Defense Academy. He is a member of the academic board and editorial board of the journals *Rocznik Strategiczny* and *Stosunki Międzynarodowe – International Relations*. Author of over 100 scholarly publications on various aspects of international security, including (as an author or editor) 10 monographs and anthologies, as well as several analyses for institutions such as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of National Defense, and the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland.
