Marko Babić, Ph. D. (habilitation in political science, 2020), researcher and lecturer at the Department of Political Science and International Studies at the University of Warsaw. From 2012 to 2019, he served as secretary of the Department of European Subregional Studies at the Institute of European Studies within the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. Since 2020, he has been the head of the Department of Eurasian Studies. He serves as an expert for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Marshal of the Sejm, the Ministry of National Defense, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, the Center for Eastern Studies, and the Aspen Institute in Berlin. He has participated in numerous international expert conferences and has lectured in, among other places, Belgrade (Serbia), Saint Petersburg (Russia), Berlin (Germany), Dijon (France), Győr (Hungary), Aveiro (Portugal), Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina), and Budva (Montenegro).
Research Interests
The Western Balkans region: including its geopolitical location, nation-building and state-building processes, security policy, and the region’s axiological and civilizational contexts. His other research interests also include the philosophy of politics, cultural anthropology, and sociology in their theoretical and normative dimensions.
