Col. Piotr Potejko, Ph.D. – Doctor of Humanities (2003), lawyer, faculty member at the Department of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. From 2009 to 2012, he served as an associate professor in the Department of Criminalistics at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Throughout his professional career, he was also involved with the intelligence services, serving for many years as director of the Department of Classified Information Protection, director of the Central Training Center, advisor to the head of the agency, and special representative for the organization of the NATO summit in Warsaw. He participated in specialized courses: “Negotiations for Emergency Services,” “Concepts for Commanders,” “Self-Defense System Against Explosives,” “Strategic Communication for Senior POL Officials,” and “STRATCOM COE.” Graduate of the State Police Academy in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania with a major in criminalistics, the Federal Police Academy in Lübeck in the field of international cooperation and cross-border crime, and the FBI in the field of criminal investigations. Member of the Steering Committee of the National Center for Research and Development responsible for implementing strategic and international security issues and international projects related to security and defense research in the context of the Polish economy. Co-director of numerous Polish and international research projects, including: “Development of Empirical Research and Analysis of Materials Concerning the Specifics of Forensic Methods in the Work of Special Services and Law Enforcement Agencies,” “Toward a More Effective Fight Against Asian Organized Crime Undermining the Economic Interests of the European Union,” and “A Regulatory Model for the Disclosure of Information and Its Limitations in a Democratic State Governed by the Rule of Law.” Co-author of the amendment to the Act on the Protection of Classified Information and its implementing regulations. From 2004 to 2009, he served as the Prime Minister’s Plenipotentiary for the negotiation and initialing of intergovernmental agreements on the protection of classified information. For many years, he was a lecturer and security expert at the European Academy of Diplomacy in Warsaw. Editor-in-chief of the academic journal “Przegląd Bezpieczeństwa Wewnętrznego” (Internal Security Review). Member of the Polish Internal Security Platform. He is a founding member of the Association for the Promotion of National Security. Between 2008 and 2019, he delivered speeches at events in Tallinn, Madrid, and Ceuta, among other places. He received a team award from the Minister of National Education for co-authoring a textbook titled “Special Education.”
