Robert Kupiecki, Ph.D., Professor – Master’s degree in history (1991), Ph.D. in political science (1998), habilitation (2011), Professor at the National Defense Academy in Warsaw (2013–2016), professor at the University of Warsaw, researcher and lecturer at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations at the University of Warsaw. A career diplomat in the Foreign Service of the Republic of Poland since 1993, currently holding the rank of titular ambassador. Deputy Ambassador to NATO (1999–2004), Director of the Department of Security Policy (2004–2008), Polish Ambassador to Washington, D.C. (2004–2008), and Deputy Minister of Defense (2008–2015). Member of the editorial board of the quarterly “Sprawy Międzynarodowe” (since 1997) and content editor of the section on security; one of the co-authors of the “Strategic Yearbook,” former member of the editorial boards of the following quarterly journals: “Security and Defence Quarterly” and “Kwartalnik Historyczno-Wojskowy,” as well as one of the editors of the monthly “Wiadomości Historyczne.” Participant in national and international research projects and numerous academic conferences. Visiting lecturer at universities abroad, including in the U.S., Canada, France, the United Kingdom, Romania, Turkey, China, Mongolia, and Algeria. Visiting professor (2020) at the Polish Center for Technology Development (PORT) in Wrocław.
