Prof. Habil. Dr. Tadeusz Bodio – Professor of Political Science; faculty member since 1975; Vice Chair of the Committee on Political Science of the Polish Academy of Sciences; Head of the Political Psychology Laboratory from 2000 to 2005; Head of the Department of Eastern Studies at the Institute of Political Science, University of Warsaw, from 2005 to 2019; from 2013 to 2019 — Chair of the Faculty Doctoral Committee in the field of political science; from 2008 to 2011, member of the Presidium and Chair of the Social Sciences Group of the State Accreditation Commission; 2020 – Member of the Scientific Council of the International Asian Congress (Toruń); has lectured at universities abroad. Chair of the Program Council of the journal *Nowa Polityka Wschodnia*; member of the scientific and editorial boards of the journals *Rocznik Polskiej Politologii*, *Krajowe Centrum Praw Człowieka Republiki Uzbekistanu*, *Caucasian Science Bridge*, “Central European Political Studies,” “Economic and Political Thought,” “Civilization and Politics,” and other journals. Since 1997—director of the international program “Transformation in Central Asian Countries”; since 2010 — “Transformation of Elites and Political Leadership in the Post-Soviet Space” and others. Editor of the “Contemporary Central Asia” and “Power-Elites-Leadership” book series; co-investigator on grants from the National Science Center. In 2012 and 2017, he received first-place awards in an international competition for research on the Caucasus. He was awarded the “Danker” Order for his work in promoting Polish-Kyrgyz relations in the fields of science and culture; the Gold Cross of Merit and the Medal of the National Commission for Education for achievements in science and teaching, the Medal commemorating the 200th anniversary of the University of Warsaw, and other honors.
